It all started as a way for local merchants to say “thanks” for the patronage received from Clear Lake and Deuel County residents

This annual event in August has turned into one of the most anticipated summer events in Clear Lake with the local merchants serving up thousands of hot dogs (over 6,000 in 2016!!) including crunchy dogs, cool dogs, undercover dogs, dogs with the fixin’s, and dog-on-a-stick.

In 2018, Dog Daze will become a “weekend” event, August 3^rd, 4^th, & 5^th, with activities being planned for Saturday and Sunday in addition to hot dogs being served on Friday evening.  Some of the tentative activities are a rib/BBQ cook-off, bingo, dance, glow volleyball tournament, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, and sand castle building contest.
